Week 8: Lesson Learned Presentation (Midterm)
Lesson Learned Presentation (Midterm)
From Week 1 to Week 8, everything leads up to this moment, what have I learned overall in technopreneurship?
Where it all Started
To summarize, we formed a group and named it as Heartseekers, because we aim to seek the heart's desires of our customers. One specific problem that we anchored on is the unavailability during the acquisition of integrated circuits. In simple terms, students waste financially, and most especially, time, when finding out that the item they are looking for is unavailable in a specific store. Thus, the HeartSeekers aimed to design and develop a mobile application that allows users to navigate the specific store to gain knowledge beforehand and make decision whether to visit that store or not.
Significant Transformation
During the first few weeks, the Heartseekers were confused, and lacked the idea to on how should we conduct the interview, and what idea to pursue. As a result, the task became exhausting, tiresome, most especially because of our close mindedness, depending only on what we knew and experienced. However, in the later week, we discovered a lot of gaps within our ideas, and we were able to make informed decisions based on the data gathered from interview, and thus improving our idea through customer discovery journey. It helped us become open-minded, learning that our idea had a wider scope than expected, realizing that students other than the specified target customers were also experiencing the same problems. Second, we realized that additional features must be added. Lastly, we learned that we must not consider only the consumer's preferences, but also the business owner's. From here on out, we are excited to where this might lead us.
In addition to these, some advise from experts gave us insight, and guide on our steps towards the end of the tunnel. I learned some aspects of technopreneurship; after customer discovery, I learned Interview Planning and Hypothesis Testing, Validation, and User Interface and User Experience.
What's Next?
The next challenge for us is to interview business owners, and convicting them to avail on our services. The product would not be possible if business owners will not avail our services. We plan to cater wide range of items that will benefit other students other than electronics related courses, conduct more interviews and investigate which courses would be added, conduct interview on IC store employees, and if possible, with business owners, and add more features to make the application be usable and desirable, making it engagable and satisfactory..
