Week 14: Digital Marketing

 DIGITAL MARKETING

So far, I believe this will be the best experience throughout my journey in technopreneurship as the guest speaker is awesome and gave us good insights in digital marketing. I learned that Data in marketing tells us Filipinos are top of the list in social media users in the world. However, we suffer in marketing, because Philippines is ranked as one of the lowest in creators per capita. In first world countries, they've found out that 38% of their general population has started their own facebook page, but for the Philippines falls short in this category.

One analogy of importance of digital marketing is a surgeon. Surgeons who has a social media page with clients interacting are more likely to gain the public's trust for an operation than a surgeon without a social media page. This is the problem here in the Philippines, there are more consumers than creators. One astounding findings show that starbucks in the international arena, earns more per store than third world countries.

Personal Digital Branding

Personal Digital Branding refers to the process of defining and promoting what you stand for as an individual, which then translates to a larger marketing effort. The personal digital brand is a culmination of experience, skills, and values that differentiate you. This means that each one of us is unique. Personal Digital Branding is equivalent to digitization of reputation. Additionally, one statistics from PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority shows that average pinoy across industries earn 140,000-180,000 Php in a year. Compare this to the average person with a leading digital brand, they earn 2.7 Million Php a month. And the astounding thing is that the people who earn this amount of money aren't really business owners but are actually employees, working in industries.

Here are the steps in creating a personal brand:

  1. Find your uniqueness, find what is true to you. You are powerfully positioned to serve the person you once were. Don't focus on money, focus on value.
  2. Implement D.A.R.E.S. Digital- no unnecessary overhead, lesser capital. Automated, Recurring, and Evergreen.
  3. Implement P.A.I.D.S: Products, Ads, Information Products, Deals,

This gives a lesson to me and the rest of the heartseekers on the importnce of digital branding, and the use of social media to attract more customers.

In conclusion, the top problem Filipino's have on marketing is the lack of personal branding inside organizations or campaigns. In creating presonal branding, its not about technology, not the software or hardware we possess, but its about the strategy you possess.
